How to give up gambling

How to give up gambling:

My story
I used to be a gambler, at first I received some money from work, and thought might bet some for entertainment mainly to gain some extra cash. As I do more research, I spent more time on betting, which eventually turned into a daily routine, and even bet on things I don't fully understand or know.
As I become more and more into it, I started even working out my own formulas on how to win or to recover. Figures at one point I won over 4000 GBP, will a voice in my head saying you should stop, but on the other hand another voice saying why not just win a little more, well you're still lucky. So I went on and started betting again, and as we all know eventually I am left with a debt for 10669 GBP. More than I could ever imagine or afford, the worst of all these were my father's money for me to go to University. I know I truly let him down and also my whole family down. I even started sharing tips with friends, of which some of them lost, so I also let my friends down. So on this day 01/06/2016 I decided to give up irresponsible gambling, as I look to start fresh with my job interview. In order to start a new career and to pay off this debt, as I understand now that gambling is not the only way forward.

What I have learnt
First I want to highlight a line "Why we lose? Ans: Because we have won". In simple terms as human wants are infinite, as you win, you always want to win more, and overall that's why we end up losing more than you could afford. Why do you think these gambling companies make so much profits every year. (And of cause there are successful stories about 1/100).

How to give up gambling?
There are 3 levels of gambling
You have to accept yourself that you are a 1. gambler, with 2. gambling problems, 3. gamble addiction. Depending on which level there are difference solutions:
For 1./ At this point you might just be gambling for fun, so why not try find some alternative entertainments instead of gambling e.g/ gaming, get a girl friend or learn something new.

2./ You might want to discuss your issues/stories with your close friends and whether they have any experience for these issues. Or simply with freewill, where a change of environment, such as new jobs or new start (moving to a difference place). (This is where I got to, and if I can do it, you can also do it.)

3./ At this final stage you should seek help from a support group or visit: http://www.helpguide.org/articles/addiction/gambling-addiction-and-problem-gambling.htm
